Zonisamide is a medication used to treat epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease. It is marketed under the brand name Zonegran among others.
Zonisamide is a sulfonamide anticonvulsant and a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor. The exact mechanisms by which zonisamide works to prevent seizures are not fully understood.
